Valley Gold Crushed Gravel

Valley Gold Gravel

Available in 3/4" and 1"–3"

Valley Gold Crushed Gravel is a versatile, natural aggregate with warm, golden-brown hues. Used for driveways, pathways, patios, decorative landscaping, and drainage. It is a crushed rock material available in different sizes, from finely crushed fines for bases to larger 1-inch or 3/4-inch pieces for general landscaping, and is known for its stability and ability to bind for solid surfaces.

Gravel Uses in Sacramento Landscapes

Gravel is one of the most versatile materials in landscaping. Here are common applications:

  • Driveways: Crushed gravel provides a durable, permeable surface that handles vehicle traffic well and allows drainage.
  • Garden Paths & Walkways: Decorative gravel creates natural-looking pathways that complement plantings and hardscape.
  • Dry River Beds: Gravel and river rock create beautiful, low-maintenance dry stream effects that manage drainage.
  • Ground Cover & Mulch Replacement: Gravel suppresses weeds, retains moisture around plants, and requires zero maintenance.
  • Drainage Solutions: Crushed aggregate improves drainage around foundations, in low spots, and in French drains.
  • Xeriscaping: Gravel is a key element in water-wise, drought-tolerant California landscape designs.
  • Sub-Base for Flagstone: Gravel or decomposed granite is used as a base for soft-set flagstone and paver applications.

Decomposed Granite

We also carry decomposed granite, which is commonly used as a base for flagstone, in driveways, and for walkways. Decomposed granite compacts well and creates a stable, attractive surface. Ask about availability when you call or visit.

Tips for Buying Gravel

Before purchasing gravel, measure the area you want to cover and estimate the depth you need (typically 2–4 inches for ground cover, 4–6 inches for driveways). Use our Material Calculator to estimate how much you need, or bring your measurements when you visit — our team can help calculate quantities and suggest the right material for your application.
